Many participating countries to the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 are holding their selection shows across Europe and each week on Radio International we take a look at the ongoing selection processes and play some of the highlights from the National Finals and songs that actually will be selected to represent their country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmoe. Alasdair Rendall will be reviewing the selection processes over the last week and you hear some of the songs on the show this week. Live Interview with Cyan Kicks (Finland 2024 National Final UMK participants): Finland will be selecting their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 through Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu  (UMK) on 10 Feb 2024 with seven acts battling it out for the ticket to represent Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmoe in Sweden 07, 09 and 11 May 2024. Suzanna of Cyan Kicks will be rejoining Radio International  this week for a live interview as they are participating once more after their great success becoming the runner up in the 2022 edition of UMK. Their entry for UMK 2024 is called "Dancing with Demons". Could this be Finland's entry for Eurovision 2024?   Spain's Benidorm Fest 2024 - The National Final of Spain to the Eurovision Song Contest 2024: Radio International's Salman and Rafia were on location in Benidorm and will join the show this week to tell us about their experience from Benidorm and there is an interview with St Pedro who made it successfully from the Semi Final to the Grand Final of the Benidorm Festival 2024 with the song "Dos extraños (Cuarteto de cuerda)" coming second after Nebulossa and the winning song of the Beniform Festival 2024 entitled "Zorra" which will represent Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in the Grand Final on 11 May 2024. Melodifestivalen 2024 Heat 1 Allstarz Melodifestivalen 2024 - Heat 1: 2624 songs were submitted to Swedish Television (SVT) for Melodifestivalen 2024. The selection was narrowed down to 30 acts which were distributed onto five heats. 12 songs will be competing in the Grand Final of Melodifestivalen 2024 on 06 Mar 2024 in Stockholm's Friends Arena. The winner of that show will then represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. On 03 Feb 2024 saw the first of five heats taking place and with that starting the Melodifestivalen 2024 Roadshow. Radio International's JP was in Malmoe at Heat 1 for had the pleasure of chatting with all six acts during the rehearsals and after the broadcast. This week on the show listen to and interview with Samir and Viktor who with the song "Hela världen väntar" (the whole world is waiting) surprisingly did not advance in the competition. However, advancing is Elisa Lindstroem who brought back Schlager to the competition "Forever Yours" made it to the Semi Final. Listen to the interview with Elisa on the show this week. Chris Poppe will be reviewing the selection processes over the last week and Luxembourg Eurovision Song Contest 2024: Interview with Tali (Luxembourg 2024): Vicky Leandros Press Conference:  After an absence of 31 years Luxembourg returns to the Eurovision Family with Tali who on 27 Jan 2024 won the first Luxembourg Song Contest and with this the ticket to represent Luxembourg at the contest with the song "Fighter". Salman and JP were at the contest in Luxembourg and conducted interviews with the participants. This week listen to the interview with Tali from Luxembourg but as well the Eurovision Winner from 1972 representing Luxembourg - Vicky Leandros was part of the Press Conference of which Radio International will air excerpts from. Vicky Leandross represented Luxembourg twice at the Eurovision Song Contest. In 1967 it was with "L'Amour est blue" coming fourth and then the victory in 1972 with the song "Apres Toi". We welcome the Grand Duchy Luxembourg back to the Eurovision Family.
