Australia’s non-dairy milk market is worth more than $600 million annually and is growing rapidly. One plant-based milk business run by an Australian entrepreneur also supports some of the world’s poorest women.

The second annual Call it Out report has been released by the Jumbunna Institute for Indigenous Education and Research at the University of Technology Sydney. The report maps incidents of racism experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Indigenous Australians are most commonly experiencing widespread stereotyping and discrimination - and nowhere is safe for them from racist abuse.

Western Australia’s Electoral Commission is trialling a low-sensory polling place for the 2025 State Election. The aim is to provide a quieter environment for voters who may benefit from it, including autistic individuals and those with intellectual and developmental or learning disabilities. The initiative in WA is not the only one in the country to help voters with a disability access polling places - but disability advocates say more needs to be done as a federal election approaches.
