In tonight's episode I am joined by Dr. Matt Gray. Dr. Gray is Associate Director of the UTIA Center for Wildlife Health and has dedicated years of his career to the study of amphibian diseases such as ranavirus and chytrid (Bd and Bsal). In this episode we discuss both diseases, and some of the dynamics behind mass die offs. Dr. Gray is also an avid supporter of a clean amphibian trade and works in conjunction with organizations such as PIJAC to develop strategies that may save us from future trade bans. If you are against amphibian bans I encourage you to click on the links below for more information and to complete the surveys. As responsible hobbyists it is imperative that we partner with the right people. Completing these surveys help experts determine how to best implement clean trade policies and help us preserve our hobby. https://onehealth.tennessee.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/78/2021/08/TradeSurveillanceReportExample2021.pdfhttps://onehealth.tennessee.edu/microbe-surveillance-instructions/https://tiny.utk.edu/pijac
