732 Australians have been inducted into the 2025 Order of Australia Honours. The list of names includes high profile public figures as well as unsung heroes recognised for contributions to their community. Among them, pioneers of social change and champions of community empowerment.

The 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher, says he hopes the accolade furthers his mission to find a cure for the terminal illness, motor neurone disease. The AFL great was diagnosed with the illness in 2013 - and he says hope has been a powerful driving force in his advocacy.

January 26 is known by most people as Australia Day, and aims to represent the origins of the country. But for First Nations Australians, it's a reminder of many years of discrimination, trauma and dispossession. In the lead up to January 26th, Aboriginal organisations in Victoria are demanding change, reinforcing the view that it's not a date to celebrate.
