Claire Keegan reads her story “So Late in the Day,” from the February 28, 2022, issue of the magazine. Keegan is the author of four books, including the novella “Foster,” which appeared in abridged form in *The New Yorker*, and, most recently, the novel “Small Things Like These,” which was published last year. In a special episode of the Writer’s Voice podcast, Kate Folk reads her story “Out There,” which ran in the magazine two years ago, in the March 23, 2020, issue. Folk’s recording session at the time was cancelled due to the pandemic lockdown. Folk was a Wallace Stegner fellow at Stanford University.
